St. Symeon the New Theologian
There is no standard iconographic representation for St. Symeon the New Theologian. He may be depicted in various ways: in the classic and usual authorial posture (writing, being sit in front of a table, holding a scroll or a codex), in the orans position, receiving the divine inspiration, or, quite often, as an iconic figure, seen bust or fully standing. Common traits of all these representations are the mature age and the monk-priest rank, the character being clad in a dark coloured outer cassock which partially covers his clothes.
