Church Hierarch in Ceremonial Clergy vestments
The ceremonial liturgical vestments include: sticharion (suplice), epimanikia, epitrachelion, zone, saccos, omophorion, engolpion, epigonation, mantle, bishop staff, mitre and pectoral cross. In most of the cases the hierarch is holding a richly adorned copy of the Four Gospels, facing the reader. The hierarchs may be represented in a frontal posture, fully standing or torso, usually in a position suggesting a direct relationship with the onlooker, due to his “talking” glance.
