The Holy Spirit
In the Christian iconography, both Catholic and Orthodox, the Holy Spirit is represented as a flying white dove with the wings wide apart, surrounded by a halo of light beams, quite seldom the halo is drawn as a disk. Exceptions to this generally recognized image are few.
In most of the cases, the Holy Spirit is depicted as a component of a complex iconographic theme such as the Holy Trinity (see canon), the Baptism of Jesus, the Whitsuntide (see canon), sometimes the Annunciation (see canon).
